sherry and mum

分類:other's creation2008/11/16 12:21Mum is in town for the moment, we have been spending some mother and daughter time together, with very enjoyable chats and tea.

So my mum is an interior designer, for over 30 years she has been making models drawings and designing the interiors, furnitures, and devices for buildings. Usually I'm in Canada so I don't really have a lot of chance to see her works. But anyway, I did manage to walk in to the construction areas she had been working on, and I must admit, some of the things she makes are really cool and creative (I mean, she IS my [Sherry's] mum after all).

So maybe that's why she has got some unique tastes when decorating our own homes. Some people have suggested that my house in Surrey was pretty weird, hoho, you haven't seen the one in Taiwan. Okay I'm getting off topic..

We were eating supper today and she was telling me that she should add some parts to my desk just to make my life easier. Then I thought about all the strange designs she had in the past, so I was very curious, and asked her "mum, what is the weirdest thing you have ever designed?"

Now what I had in mind was something like a 2-metres tall bed with a closet inside, a desk that has flexible drawers with springs inside it that can shoot outwards, or some kind of dinner table with a hole inside that you can stick chopsticks or flowers in there . Come on, anything is possible with her imagination.

Anyway, my mum thought for a while, murmuring, considering, "hm.. the weirdest thing...hmm.. it has been too long.. 30 years!"

Finally she said, "Sherry, I think it's you".
