Yesterday was rough. I got up at seven in the morning, drank some soup, grabbed a cup of tea, and set out to school to write two exams. The first one was globalization, and believe me, that was not easy. I couldn't think properly at 8:30 am there were just too much to write, I don't think I did well on that. After the exam, I realized I forgot to bring my four must-bring's -- my apartment keys, my usb flashdrive, my upass, and my CELLPHONE. I thought GREAT, I bombed my globalization exam and now I have no keys to go home, no phone to find Jennifer and Anna, and no upass to go on the bus! JEEZ!
Fortunatly, while I was wondering around SUB I found Jennifer sitting beside Starbucks, so I sat at her table and we studied together for politics exam in the afternoon and used her cellphone to call Anna. During that time I had to go to the washroom five time because I was too nervous! I was so frightened and used up some energy and strength haha. But once I got the exam question sheet, I relaxed so much, becuase the questions were what I prepared the most, man I was so lucky.
After the exam I found some coins in my wallet, which is surprising since I usually keep them in my cowybank. The important thing is I could pay for my bus fare! I got home, packed, took a shower, made people jealous on msn by telling them I'm going to Taiwan, and transferred my files to my flashdrive, and left for the airport.
When I got there I went to the customs office to declare my laptop. Man they were so grumpy and rude, and asked me SO MANY questions, do they think I'm a terrorist?! PFT, wasted a whole lot of my time. That wasn't the end. While they were scanning the luggages, the officers wanted to check one of my baggages. So we unpacked and they made a mess just to find that the suspecious item was a bottle of olives that my mum packed = =
At first I thought our flight was at 1:30, then I looked at my boarding pass and it said 1:05. And my mum and I were still shopping for candies. She also insisted that we purchace some cigarettes for her client in Taiwan, and it has to be "Canadian".
So I was very awkward and went into a convenient store and asked the employee..
"Do you sell any CANADIAN cigarettes here?"
She stared at me and said
"What kind?"
Man, neither of us are smokers so we had no idea, so I said
"Eh, how about the most popular one?"
She stared at me again
"it looks like they are all sold out"
"Well, how about the second popular one?"
Seeing that we're going to miss our flight, I continued
"Actually, just give me one of each"
Now the weird thing is, she didn't even ask to see my ID. I thought underaged people cannot buy cigarettes... Jeez, do I look that OLD? Or probably she just want this weird customer to get out as soon as possible, lol, that might be a reason.
The flight was horrifying. I remember before we board, I told my mum "I hope we won't sit near any children (those aged 2~3 ones)," I've had experiences with them.
And AHA! What do you know, two infants sat right in front of me. #$%^%$
They were so annoying!!! Both of them were crying like crazy. One was even laughinng at first, then switched to crying, then laughing, then crying. I haven't had a good rest for a whole week, I thought I could at least sleep all the way to Taiwan but then I couldn't with two infants crying all the way to Taiwan,.. I thought I'd join them too.
I bet one of them had psychic power becuase she came and pulled my hood when I was lining up for the washroom. But what could you do to a child? I could only smile sweetly and say "hi~ what's your name?"
Right now I'm sitting on my bed in our renovated condo (almost typed condom there lol). This is a nice place. Very quiet and bright, though it takes 20 minute drive to the city. But at least this place has fresh air, I won't have to use a pack of tissue a day.
My mum and I were thinking where we should go for breakfast, and we both said "McDonalds!" We always wanted to eat McDonald breakfast in Vancouver but we failed to get up before the breakfast period is over every weekend. So since we had jet lag, we decided to use this great opportunity to eat there. And WOW their sandwiches are HUGE
look at their sausage n' egg McMuffin, the whole meal is only $2.50CDN, the coffee is bigger, and the sandwich..oh, look at it, so neatly piled, beautiful! People were staring at me when they saw me taking photos of my sandwich lol. I've earned quite a lot of glares these days.
