I've been living in Vancouver for almost ten years, but I guess I hadn't experience the excitement this city can evoke, especially when you're with friends.
After today, I'm sure that if you're meeting Rachel at a certain time, you've got to call her three hours early to wake her up. After half an hour, call again, since most likely she'll be sleeping again. After half an hour, call her once again, just in case. Never call her until she's really late because it she tends to go slower when she has to answer too many phone calls; and I still don't understand why. (Lol)
Finally, we made it to downtown (withtout puking after my experience of motion-sickness on the skytrain). We dropped by my apartment just to get the mails. When I inserted the keys, I felt the independence and freedom that awaits me *evil smile*. At the same time I realized how fast time passes by. Ten years ago I was holding onto my mommy's hand as I stepped out of the airplane that arrived here, ten years later I am about to move into my own apartment. WOW.
It's not really about the shopping or whatever. I didn't buy anything (except food, which disappears, quickly, especially with the presence of Amy), but I had too much fun merely being with those four absurd people. I had been to downtown so many times that I basically memorized all the streets, but it feels new and fresh during this trip. Being with weird people allows you to releases all your urge to do weird things. How many times have I wanted to take entertaining photos with foolish poses,..I did not even hesitate while I was with them (Lol).
With them, there's no need to worry about your act, your appearance, or w/e..maybe that's the result of being friends for so many years, or simply the result of each other's honest attitude (not that I'm bragging, I'm pure,..not sure about the other four!).
Simply a downtown trip, yet I haven't felt this way for a long time. It's too good to be like this. I hope they don't see this post, since they rarely visit here anyway..come to think about,.. it do they even know I have a blog? Oh well they're decent friends I suppose, who made me a decent downtown trip (wow alliteration). Thanks Amy, Rachel, Sandy, and Vivi (Notice how I listed the names in alphabetical order).
*Note: Even though Jessie wasn't there, I'm sure her presence wouldn't make a difference to how I feel (Don't take it the wrong way. But we had fun last Friday night,..which somehow foreshadows our college life soon).
