I've been told that I'm unfortunate to be commuting everyday between ubc and downtown, by dozens of people. At first I thought so as well, after all, I have to get up at least one and half hour before class starts, when people who lives on campus have a much more flexible time.
But busing is actually quite fun, as long as you get seats. I always do, becuase I always wait at the first stop (or is there a specific term?). Anyway, as long as you sit at the very back, you won't have to get up for the elderly or the children, the people sitting in the front do that.
It's really interesting to meet the same people on the bus everyday. I like to observe them. There's this one Asian guy (I think he's mixed) whom always sit across me. He's about the same age as I am, maybe younger? Everyday he'd bring a paperback with him to read on the bus. He's really tall, and he doesn't wear much on a cold winter day, I always wanted to tell him that he should switch to a thicker jacket, but nevermind. He gets off at McDonalds St. I wonder what he does.
There's this girl who gets on Broadway, I think. I only meet her when my class finishes at 2PM. She goes to some kind of private highschool I believe, based on her nice uniform. She's mixed too I think, very tall, and very pretty. Uses environmental-friendly bags everyday. Gets off at Davie St.
There's a guy who looks to be around 30ish, UBC student. Wears a sweater-hoodie everyday, reads different textbook every tuesday and thursday (that's when I meet him). Gets off at Nelson St. (Same as me)
It's not that I'm a stalker or something, but I just like to observe people. You start wonder about things when you observe. And somehow you relate those things that you're wondering about to your life. Then you start thinking about your own life. I get a lot of these everyday.
I find that commuting by bus gives me this opportunity to get to know myself better. When I'm at home I'd just be studying, practicing the piano, doing chores, watching drama, whatever, just always occupied. I can't study on the bus, cos I'll get sick. I can only put on my headphones and look at the people around me, think about stuffs, think about what's the matter with me, what have I done wrong, am I happy, where am I, so on.
I listen to musics and look at the people around me on the way school too! :P It's fun that I meet the same teacher of my school and I run to school with her every morning! XD But we've never talked to each other!
ReplyDeleteLOL it's fun ain't it?! XD I do it twice everyday XD
ReplyDeleteI've never met my profs on the bus though XD
I'm very observant too about the people I see on the bus. As I take the same bus for school everyday, I see some of the same people. And If they aren't there I wonder if they're sick or whatever lol.
ReplyDeleteLOL exactly, we start "wondering" what happened to them. And the bus drivers became familiar too, they know exactly where you're heading to
ReplyDeleteUgh yeah, the bus drivers change here though, but some of them are the same, and they always greet me with a 'Good Morning'
ReplyDeletehm, i find some of them grumpy in the morning, they'd drive away without me even though i'm chasing like crazy, but other times they're very friendly lol
ReplyDeletebtw, what's your live journal again?
ReplyDeleteI've downloaded a couple of wordpress blog themes from all other websites. They may be in the zip file format. How can i apply them? May i get a step-by-step guide?.
